Halloween Costumes

2009

Emily was easy this year.  I saw this pumpkin at Wal-Mart early on and never really considered anything else.  It was so cute on her.  James however, was pretty tough.  I couldn't find anything that I felt fit him right now.  The Monday before Halloween, after shopping at nearly a dozen stores including four different Wal-Marts and two different Targets, I finally found this little Pirate getup.  He wasn't any help at all insisting that he didn't like dinosaurs, trains, pirates, or any costume for that matter.  So I just picked for him.  I was a little worried the days before Halloween and in fact as we were putting the costume on Halloween night when he kept telling me he didn't like Pirates and he didn't want to be one but when we finally put it all on and added the sword, he was excited and happy about it.  He had a major meltdown when I drew a moustache on him so I had to quickly take it back off and calm him down.  You'll have to take  my word for it - he was very handsome with "hair" on his upper lip.
